I was wondering about this and I have some concerns. Are there enough people around Putin who can prevent use of nuclear weapons?

My rambling thoughts.
This seems like such a huge miscalculation by Putin. My thoughts are that he was really just that wrong or he was feeling internal pressure and this was his hail mary.
Either way, I agree that I'm not sure how he remains in power after this. What worries me is a Putin with nothing to lose. Does he have sane people around him with enough control to prevent use of nuclear weapons?
I liken this to Trump, but in the case of Trump there were enough sane people around him with power who did at least the minimally right thing when it came down to it. I just wonder if that exists in Russia.
