My guess is the length of the club and the angle of the hozzle / club face determine what club he's hitting...but

it's not a traditional setup at all.

A 6 degree driver would kill a groundhog at 20 feet. Most drivers are like 46 inch shafts if I recall right. But for the bigger drivers like long drive contests, they used to go out to like 52".

Every inch of shaft length adds 7 yards of distance iirc. (and immeasurable pleasure TWSS!)
