maybe, but it didn't get much lower down the chain. reactions from Chinese diplomats were essentially "wtf man!"

there are a lot of career diplomats saying the Chinese were visibly surprised and uncomfortable when the invasion started.

Maybe because it wasn’t a surprise in any way. Biden et al told us for a month about every plan…
