I’ll need to watch it again but I really enjoyed the first MST3K episode of the new season.

Which, surprisingly, wasn’t a given. I like Jonah, but I thought the Netflix episodes were too rapid fire with the riffs at times. They let them breathe here, so it felt paced more like the older episodes.
The movie was ridiculous and perfect for the show. They’ve got some doozies lined up for this season, including a 3D episode (backers will be sent glasses) and a Christmas episode with all 3 hosts.
I do wish they retained more of the DIY/lower budget aspects of the show, though. The riffs are clearly pre recorded as opposed to recorded when they shot the theater scenes. The SOL and Moon sets are green screens instead of actual sets. The host segments were pretty good. I’ve had a thing for Felicia Day *forever* so it’s always good to see her.
The Gizmoplex will be an interactive theater when it’s fully up and running. Right now it looks like a regular streaming service interface. What they previewed looks insanely cool.
In two weeks, they’ll be a “Tribute to Manos” which includes a watch along with some of the MST cast, and some other stuff I guess. These events will be mixed in with the new episodes.
The first 2 months are currently exclusive to Kickstarter backers, it will be available to everyone in May. You’ll have to purchase a pass to see the new episodes and special events.
