I got my haircut on Sunday and the woman who cuts my hair is from Ukraine. She still has a significant amount of family and friends there. None of

them are leaving. Her family still has a condo in a smaller city between Kharkiv and Kyiv. Her SIL had been living there and maintaining it, but she has moved back in with her family and a family of refugees from Kharkiv are living there now. She was still struggling to process it all, but she said among the worst parts of it are just that her parents, who moved the family here right around when the Soviet Union fell, have watched nothing but Russian TV since they moved here. They are essentially brain-washed at this point and only believe the Putin explanations of what's going on. Apparently her sister called them when they first attacked to tell them about the attack and they laughed and said it wasn't happening. This has been a family issue for a while but they were able to kind of ignore it and just all agreed that the parents wouldn't watch the tv when they were there and they wouldn't discuss it. But now it's more difficult and it's driving a wedge in the family.
