If we know how much the census undercounted and underrepresented then why do we need the census? (Besides The Constitution says so, of course) -- nm

Performing the actual census helps solidify statistical models. The models are showing that there was a major fuck up, IIRC.

IIUC, the undercount is apparent when looking at the previous census and demographic trends -- nm
