When I was in the Reserves for weekend drills or annual training we used to set up our room on the boat like a home away from home, tv, game system, vcr (and then dvd player), etc. But the space we had to put the tv was very, very small so we could only use a 13" tv.
Can you imagine playing a 4 player split screen on a 13"? Of course we were only sitting a foot or two away (the rooms were NOT big at all), but it was still pretty challenging.
