We'd settle for a rancher, if it felt "right", but I know the cats would like some stairs ... :)

One little quirk that I've noticed in our hunt is that I really like houses that have a teeny little loft area for the top floor, all sealed up - great for an office, I think.
One place (that turned out to be a duplex that was completely falsely advertised) had the master suite as a loft ... it was a *gigantic* suite, with a 5-piece ensuite. Would have been nice, but like I said, false advertising meant the place was actually a duplex. We were very mad about that.
