MLB.com At Bat is worth the money. They broadcast two games a day and you have live stats for everything else. I'm not sure if there will be an NFL equivalent or not. There is an app called Pro Football though I have to be honest that I don't recall using it any last year. Kim must have.
If you want to take a blanket approach to sports scores, ESPN Score Center is the choice.
Mantis Bible Study is self-explanatory.
There are Facebook and Twitter apps if you use either. Kim's got Twitteriffic on here and it works great. Tweetie is also supposed to be good.
The guys at Rentrak have put together FilmScopeW, which is a bit pricey (I think there's a free version), but you get movie info whenever you want it.
Flixster is also good, as is Now Playing.
I got bored of it on Facebook, but iFluff on the iPhone is a fantastic time killer when you are waiting on a movie or something.
Katamari is fun, but it can be a bit harder to play on the iPhone than on an XBox.
One of Last.fm or Pandora is a must. If you have XM Radio, you can broadcast on your iPhone as well. It's free for the moment, but they'll start charging at some point this year.
Night Stand is great if you use it as an alarm clock in a Bose or some other kind of sound system.
Shazam is great if you use the iPhone as a radio. You can tag music to identify later.
I've got Sol Free for Solitaire and Sudoku for...Sudoku.
Pocketpedia is great for organizing your media.
VoiceRecord is self-explanatory.
If you are in the market to buy or sell a house or just like to keep up, there's Zillow.
If you want to keep up with whether XBox Live friends are online but don't want to turn on your XBox, use XBLFriends.
Finally, if you're a weather nerd like my wife, A) I pity you and B) get WeatherBug.
I also have a couple of silly Disney games, Up and RhinoBall.
