- road maps they haven't used in five years
- daily planners from 1952 and 1954. "But they're all fresh!" "You'll get yourself mixed up on dates." "Maybe I can use them for something else." "What?" "Okay out they go."
- multiple pairs of worn sunglasses
- mismatched envelopes and stationery
Attic:
- rain boots where the rubber has cracked off
- old newspapers about WWII. "Why would we save them?" "Maybe Betsy will have a history report and can use them in class."
- broken lampshades
- old batteries
- extra Christmas cards. "You'll never use them." "Maybe I can decorate with them in a collage." "sure sure, you'll get around to that..." "okay"
- mismatched buttons and jewelry, pocketbook hand mirrors
- old neckties
- film negatives. "We have the pictures - why save old negatives?"
- an old chair
The only difference is the husband is going to burn them in the trash barrel.
Now a friend shows up talking about old photos and asks if they happen to have the original negative.
