The Cruze forums are an interesting place. Because the engine is a turbo, lots of talk about ECM and higher octane fuel.

I put so many miles on the car (up to 165k now) I can imagine that it may be time for new plugs though I think I had a tune up recently. This is really a warm weather phenomenon so maybe kicking up the octane will help
