More shooter than Borderlands?

After raving about the Bioshock games during quarantine, I was recommended Borderlands and found it to be right on my personal edge of too much shooter vs story line.
Soooooo....your comment gives me pause.
Well, there's also the fact I still have an unopened PS5 with drive (from like August? September) that I might not exactly be a gamer ;-)
