Something that's bothered me for a while: what subtle barb do people think they're getting in by using "Democrat" as an adjective?

It's grammatically incorrect, and therefore makes people sound stupid. And, it's petty.
(NB: I'm not attacking Vermin here. I'm attacking the conservative media bias.)
