As I am 50 now I figured I'd address the elephant in the room...my high school grad pictures...
Yes, 14 out of 16 are a fucking clown show.
I could of lost my mind and destroyed them years ago. But why?
When dad was dying of cancer he got a kick out of them. Mom certainly got her share of laughs and even when cancer was knocking at her door she still would laugh at them...and rightly so.
The lesson I have learned in my 50 years, especially being an Anderson is, people gonna laugh at you; so make it count.
If I had taken the tack of "I DON'T LIKE THESE" then people would still see them but I'd be an asshole rather than just having fun. At university I learned to roll with the punches and when anyone sees that something makes you upset chances are you will be dealing with it forever (cough"PuddinHead"cough).
I've always taken a kind of satisfaction in my grad pics. Yes, they are literally the worst grad pics in the history of the world. But honestly, who cares. As mentioned I could of railed and ranted against them but that would of just given them power. By ignoring them they are still funny as shit, but the fact I could care less removes any power from them. Anyway, sometimes something is just funny and by rolling with it people get to enjoy it while still not making it a big deal.
I think we've lost this kind of feeling for things as everything is judged immediately on twitter/FB/etc.
Have a good one.
