Hey techie people, would this work as a "monitor" for a college student?

She'll obviously have her laptop so I imagine most of what this will be used for is gaming and having the Tizen stuff built in will help with streaming.
Plus, airplay since she has ipad/iphone.

This. I've got 2 Samsung TV's and have connected both to laptops without issue. This model must be fubar
