I had a dream last night that I won an Emmy and an Oscar for The Pamphlet, a The Great-style series about Marx and Engel

writing The Communist Manifesto.

I had written the script for the series and somehow the producers got Jonah Hill and Samuel L Jackson to star as Marx and Engel respectively. Which fit, because in the script, Marx is bookish and cerebral and Engel was this foul-mouthed firebrand.

But a few days into shooting things....just work right. The chemistry was wrong and none of the jokes in the script landed.

So on day X, I get the idea to reverse the rolls - Hill plays Engel and SLJ plays the bookish Marx.

And.....instant impact. The whole project just turned out.

It's critically and popularly loved, and I end up getting a couple of Emmys from it.
