First word was SLATE so I figured the T was either in the second position or the last (most likely). So my next step was to get an idea on vowels. Originally I was going to try STOOD or STOOP but I wanted to try two vowels if possible. So was like STOUT but the T repeated which I didn't like so I put the T at the end and SNOUT just was the first thing to come to mind.
