It's in NATO's interest to bog Russia down in Ukraine as long as possible. If Russia "wins", then other countries - including NATO countries - end up in their crosshairs. If Russia feels they're losing, they've got "nothing to lose" by using nukes. This video, in particular, is pretty accurate. China, for instance, is not happy with Russia because their decades-long ambitions on Taiwan are now in the toilet as "the West" has proven how harmful sanctions can be, and China is even more vulnerable to sanctions...
