Not for all integrations. I do not have one. I did buy some Zigbee units and bought Zigbee bridge to integrate Zigbee with Alexa -- (edited)

I think I could have not had to do that if I had the Echo with the base. All the rest of my devices (Kasa, Eufy, etc) integrated directly with Alexa
