I liked it. It was not without flaws, but overall I'd say I liked it.
It was Batman meets The Crow meets Rorschach meets Dick Tracy meets Tim Burton meets a few other things. It was very wet - presumably to hide batman's tears, but also to foreshadow.
The main question I have is ...
who would build a city that way?!
(Yes, yes, I know ... several cities are built that way in real life. The question stands. That whole sequence was a bag of wtf.)
Anyway. The Riddler was great. Pattinson was solid. Zoe was good. Gordon was good.
Colin Farrell was an odd choice for Penguin, but he made it work really well. A better turn as a villain than Bullseye.
Casting Irv's outie as Carmine Falcone was a bold choice, but that worked too.
There was something kinda weird going on with certain fabrics. More texture than I would expect for fabrics of that nature, leading it to look like certain things were ragged when they were supposed to look ... I dunno. Smooth.
Good flick. I should've made some popcorn.
