LIR - Does this make sense? We bought season passes this year for our local theatre to get Hamilton next year. (Added)

We got 18 tickets, face value $67 each...but the season pass rate was ~900 total.
We just got our chance to buy next season -- $1800 for the same passes.
I know Hamilton's great and all, but that's insane short of those tickets alone being $350 each, right?
The rest of the group is Dear Evan Hansen, Tootsie, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats and the Temptations biomusical.
1) Is it realistic this happened?
2) If so, how pissed would you be to get in line early at significant cost, and then get bent over a table like this?
This past year, there was Come From Away, Mean Girls, Rent, Donna Summer biomusical, Hairspray, and Anastasia.
Year over Year, Hamilton is the marquee, but the other 5 are not exactly non-comparable. Rent = Cats, Hairspray = JC Superstar, the 2 bio-musicals, Come From Away = Dear Evan Hansen,
