YDC theater: Kennedy Center hasn't announced it's new season yet. And they now have a competitor which has shaken up the DC theater scene.

If the rumored season is true, I might drop my subscription which I've had for years
The Kennedy Center has a big issue in DC now. The National Theater was a second tier sort of theater for years. it had a few pre-Broadway debuts, and got non-equity tours years later. Until 2019. In 2019 the Nederlander Organization got control back of the venue. Since they produce a lot of the shows in their Broadway houses, when a tour comes to DC now, they put it in their house and not the Kennedy Center.
The National Theatre announced its season which was much higher level than before. They got Six, Tina, and Jagged Little Pill - which all would have been Kennedy Center shows in another year/previously. They also got Aladdin, Beetlejuice, and Hadestown, all of which were just in DC recently.
The Kennedy Center is late in announcing, and rumors are the season is a lot of re-tread. The rumored season is as follows, with my notes:
1776 (zero interest)
A Soldier's Play
Book of Mormon (was just at the Kennedy Center)
Wicked (was just at the Kennedy Center)
Lion King
Les Mis (already seen)
Having 2 shows that I literally just saw hurts, unless they are season options. Moulin Rouge is apparently a potential instead of Book of Mormon and that would immensely. But the rumored add-ons of Frozen and Annie- eesh.
