How many TTers have been to business school? I have a case history question.

I assume there are standard example cases that every business student studies, like New Coke and PostIts... are there any famous examples of industries or companies that have succeeded or failed spectacularly based in a decision *not* to advertise?
Maybe Tesla?
I'm mostly thinking of entertainment/sports and imagining if the SuperBowl didn't hype the halftime show because they didn't want to ruin a surprise, or if Paramount decided not to hype opening weekend for Top Gun: Maverick and hope that word of mouth alone would deliver the revenue. Is there any company or industry where "We shouldn't advertise our biggest event/product press day or release because disappointment after overhyping is a bigger risk of nobody tuning in to the news."
