metacritic just inexplicably retweeted their ranked Bond list from last year, but it prompted a line of thought about Craig

First, they of course screwed up the middle of their rankings. The shortlist is easily From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Living Daylights, and then you pick from one of Brosnan's and Craig's. They're modern and have great cinematography and action, but-
at this moment I realized that Craig is the worst Bond of them all because he's such a failure. The other Bonds get into tight spots but decisively win their battles (asterisk for Lazenby)...
Craig blunders his way through missions, by all rights should be dead multiple times over for the way he allows himself to be caught, must be responsible for more allied deaths (including the death of M) than any of them, and even gets hit by friendly fire and prompts his Q to allow MI6 to get hacked. And, contrary to the other Bonds having a ruthless switch they can turn on, Craig's Bond demeanor is just an asshole who can't control his emotions.
Craig as Bond would be like if the U.S. hosted the Superspy Olympics and was represented by real life Steven Seagal.
