The NBA player empowerment is both a positive and a negative for reasons like this. The player who had already quit on one team was going to quit on another unless he got his way.

And Simmons might have some value if he ever decides to be anything approaching professional. Not optimal but it’s not like you traded for Russell Westbrook.

He will always be overpaid but he could have some value.

He didn't have a no-trade clause. The Nets could have traded him to anywhere they wanted but I guess if he's going to refuse to play for that team too - Krusty Apr 26, 07:22 1
