One of my favorite local breweries (Holy Mountain) has a limited release barrel-aged barleywine (called Hand of Glory) which comes out approximately once per year ("when it's ready"). There have been five versions, I believe, and my friends have saved one of each to taste side by side (aka "vertical").
I have tasted some of these previously, and I have a few in my cellar. This is going to be especially enjoyable and interesting, though.
