Pai for Thai
Host for Indian
Lai Wah Heen for upscale Chinese
Tinuno for Filipino kamayan
Colibri for upscale Mexican
Dai Lo for new Chinese (this is a little away from the downtown)
Santosei for ramen (several locations)

I have more lunch options in the downtown area but in the Kensington Market area:

Seven Lives for fish tacos
Dirty Bird for chicken and Waffles

Let me know if you have any preferences for cuisine, location, budget. The restaurants I go to tend to be out of the way and involve cuisines that I don't know much about. Like if you want to try Yemeni food, I can give you a suggestion about 30 minutes away by subway
