Good luck! Being a government employee I get screwed. Max 10% raise per year for advancements. I've gotten screwed several times.

When I got promoted to my current position I jumped 3 levels. Should have been a 15% raise but I was blocked to the 10%.
This year I moved up one more level which should have been 5%. But the legislative raise happened at the same time and state level HR screwed a lot of us. So they took my original salary, figured out what the 5% would have been in dollar value. Then gave the 2.5% on the original salary for the legislative. Then gave the dollar amount on top of that. Came out to like 4.8%. Yeah, not a huge amount, but it's the principle of the thing.
I'm still considering filing a grievance. If I had applied for the advancement at any other time I would have gotten the full 5%.
