And right to repair should be a thing where it currently isn't which means repair and body shops don't need a connection to a manufacturer, either.

Branded dealers are an unnecessary middleman to the process of purchasing and maintaining a car. Their margins on new car sales are low so they tack on accessories, services and maintenance packages to make it work for them.
