I'll bet, at venues like that, it will be billed as more of co-headliners.

And I could see them jamming together on a few songs, too.
Neil Young used to do this all the time with collaborators and musicians he admired. He would tour as the "supporting act," often for financial reasons. He'd take a much lower cut of tour revenue -- what a true "second act" artist would accept, if not less -- in exchange for their participation on a future album or live session.
Beck strikes me as an artist who would do something similar.
