My blood pressure rise. Apparently not all 3 way switches are configured in ways that play nice with smart 3 way kits. Many hours of frustration -- (edited)

later I have only managed to upgrade one single pole light switch (the above sink light) to a smart switch. I *think* that the issue might be that the lamp is in the middle of the chain (line, switch, lamp, load). Smartthings (at least for the GE switch which I'm now considering vs. the Kasa kit) has a nice example link that I found last night after it got dark and I had stopped working on things.
I may hit up the electrician I'm going to talk to today about installing the Level 2 EV charger to take a quick look and validate my findings otherwise I need to find my multimeter and start testing
Super annoying because nearly all the switches in my house are 3 way
