A friend of mine in Navy ROTC did his summer cruise out of Miramar when they were filming. He met Tom Cruise in the officers club one night

He told him that he was a drama major (actually he was in engineering). Cruise took some time and gave my friend some acting tips.
You can say a lot of things about Tom, and I have. But for one night in the 80s, he was a real nice guy to my friend.
