On some level I think it's just that so much of the "conservative" end of the of the spectrum is represented by MAGA morons, that make constant stupid

and ridiculous statements (often statements that are outright lies or other disinformation) that faces constant fact checking (and ridicule) by those on the left, it "feels" like it has a left bias to them. It all rounds back to the problem that being fact based with respect to a group that doesn't believe in facts comes off as bias when it is not.
