Switzerland is close to 400 years now. Venice lasted 1000.

Also, I find the "republics only last xxx years" argument is often most pushed by people who seem to want a bit more authority in their lives.
The "reasons" cited for the dissolution of the republic are often things like too much immigration, greater influence of women, no military service etc (rather than the angry, militaristic types getting upset at not having enough power)
