It's simultaneously a huge marker scribbling all over the representations of the comic book series, while also becoming a huge eraser removing everything that's thus far been said about the character.

But I mean, I get that it's exactly what fans wanted. And that's awesome. It's rare that happens. I just don't think that makes for a very good movie by itself.
