In response to "now that my car is making its way to me, I need to know what I need to know about hoem chargers. can someone tell me what to buy or link me to what I " by amanda

Things you need: a 240/220V plug. A circuit that can handle the amps.

Your circuit needs to have some leeway on it for a 32A charger, you should have a 40A breaker. For 40A, you need a 50A breaker.

The math of charging is just volts*amps/battery. A watt is a volt * amp, a kW is kV*A. So a 240V plug with a 40 A charger gives you 9.6 kW max rate charging. If you need 30 kWh to top up, that's 30/9.6 = 3.125 hr. There's not a lot of point in going beyond a 40A home charger.

GrizzlE is highly rated as are JuiceNet (what I have).
