you may recall he is trans. His family life was always a hot mess. Mom and dad divorced. Neither really recognized him as him. We were constantly dodging the topic though it seemed this very unspoken thing. I mean, my daughter with their daughter (in their minds) was *something* but still, we never used his name in front of them,etc.
Anyways, his mom used his name in public on Facebook today and it made my heart very happy even though this kid isn't with my daughter anymore.
