Every time it comes up, people say that it’s unfeasible, that it’s too expensive, etc. But we could have said the same about solar power, too. We keep talking about the Earth’s water crisis, how we’re losing fresh water. And I’m squarely of the opinion that once there’s enough demand, there’ll be enough innovation that it’ll make desalination workable. I mean, it basically boils down to: We make desalination work or we run out of fresh water on Earth. Those who say it’ll never work… what are they saying? “Nope! Desalination is too expensive. Let’s just let the world fall in a Mad Max style post-apocalyptic wasteland.”
