That was the rule in the Forest Service when I checked years ago.


At the six-month mark, seasonal employees began accruing benefits at twice the rate of regular, full-time employees. That way, if a seasonal employee ever did become the equivalent of a full-time employee, their benefits would catch up at the end of the first full year.
