I'd say that take is a gross misunderstanding of why Sinema and Manchin won't vote to get rid of it.

The reason they don't want the filibuster gone is neither wants to truly look like a Democrat. If the filibuster is lifted, and they start voting for things like gun control or voting rights, they'll do so with only Democrats.

No way to spin it as bipartisan. No way to make it look like they're with Republicans, too. It'll be a bill that every Republican opposes, and they'll be the ones mainly responsible for getting it passed. No way either does that.
