I don't think that's what they said or at least meant.

My understanding is that Tanahashi will wrestle someone else. AEW will determine a new champion at the PPV.
But they've butchered the announcement so much that I rule nothing out. I simply doubt they'd put another company's wrestler in a championship match with actual stakes.
