STIS: How do I approach this evening's graduation party?

I think I mentioned that FH's older brother died when he was like just past HS age? So, before I met her, her brother and husband died. Since I've known her, her father and the last boyfriend before her husband have died. I'm thinking that's an above average amount of loss for somebody who's not even 41.

Tonight, FH, her sister and mother, and I are going to a HS graduation party. For the son of her brother's best friend. Best friend to the point of being essentially an honorary family member.

I've no idea of what it will be like for the FH and her family to be at the party. I figure for me at the party, in the big picture, just smile and wave and I'm dating? seeing? FH but.......

the mother and sisters are going so they must be ok with it, do I interact with them just like it's any other social event?
