solid state (if/when it gets here) should help. but there's still the charging infrastructure problem that has no easy fix, at least in cities of size

California is endeavoring to get to 35% zero emission sales in the next three years (and bans all gas-powered vehicles by 2035, currently). as well as EVs sell here, still only up to 12% of new car sales annually. there are *millions* of non-homeowners in LA/SF who are going to have to convert to electric to hit those goals and right now they all park their cars on the street with no access to regular charging stations. you just can't do it on battery EV alone
