I don't recall it either. And I am absolutely positive that I have watched every single episode of the show, and every minute of every movie.
I know this because of a dear, close friend for those ten years or so. We called each other "Mulder" and "Scully" while watching every episode on Sunday night. And usually again on Thursday night.
That's not counting the times I've waded through the show on Netflix, caught it on cable, etc.
In other words, I think you're on to something.
