Lir Colin...Huh?

>you might say that we need to "bite the bullet" to >fight global warming, but there still is no hard >evidence that it's happening. a concensus does not >mean it's fact, or that there's even a majority in >agreement. the only thing this bill will do is cost >us money, and drive businesses (and jobs) out of >the US by virtue of the high taxes and carbon >offset requirements.

i'm sorry but are you serious?

you can argue (although not succesfully) that human are not the couse of global warming, but saying it is not proved?

and no i agree consensus is not the same as fact, it only means a majority agrees on the facts in the case of humans cousing global warming the consensus is in fact (and can be prooved easily with numbers) so overwhelming it's staggering!

now back to the issue at hand, putting a high tax on energy will ofcourse mean less use of energy, what you got to make sure is that the decrease in nergy use does not slow down the economy in that way it can create many jobs, kill many jobs too and will create large change in the society in general.... it can be a great new opportunity but i doubt you will see it.... i mean denial is not a good way to embrace new opportunities
