you're Polish aren't you? did your parents bring you up speaking Polish? or was it more important to them that you weren't thought of as a dumb Polack immigrant kid?

i'm not saying it was right. i'm saying that in my grandparents eyes they were doing what they thought was the best for their children. (and yes my last name ends in - ski)

furthermore there is no doubt in my mind that this was a mistake. it is far easier to learn foreign languages early on.
