I liked it as well, but not without criticism. Butler is fantastic. (spoils)

It's a good 30-45 minutes too long. It really started to drag towards the end. The movie is very pretty but in some ways it's like an endless montage. It gave you enough to get the gist, but you know there was much more to explore. Probably too much to focus on his whole life since it had so many ups and downs, but it felt like reading the Cliff's notes version. Still it was visually excellent with a lot of great music and strong performances.
