we got up Saturday morning at 6:30 (it was an hour and a half drive with 3 women in tow)
please keep in kind this had been planned for about a month...no packing done
got to her place around 8:30
everyone there ready to roll
almost nothing packed
they have the moving truck till 4 PM
I start kicking everyone's ass to start loading shit (I want to get back to the fucking lake)
almost all the big stuff is loaded and we leave around 11
NO water for anyone. no snacks; fucking nothing (no lunch for anyone either)
get to apartment complex...6th floor...elevator may or may not be a death trap
my girls refuse to use the elevator (stay tuned, this might be important shortly)
multiple trips up, I have to go from the 6th floor to the truck to keep people going cause when I wasn't around everyone assumed it was break time
the couch that weights 500 lbs won't fit in the apartment door (around 6 the BIL figures out how to do it (I was long gone)
elevator breaks literally as the last load was on the 6th floor (was down for like 30 minutes but who cares cause we were done!)
we finally get everything unloaded...multiple drinks out of their sink as no glasses or water bottles.
returned the moving truck at 3:50 (it was very close)
Related:
the SIL house was literally the second dirtiest place I have ever seen. The first was my dad's sister who was an alcoholic and used to put newspaper on the floor so she could pee on it.
The 500 lbs couch when we were moving it, I was literally rained on by dirt and french fries (for like 10 minutes cause I had to hold it above me as we moved it) and other dirt (the comment "I swept the floor a month and a half ago!" was uttered)
but we got it done. we'd still be there if i didn't crack the whip though
