Social justice should be based on unity and consensus’s building, which takes time, whereas the status quo is served by fracturing attention and demanding that we focus on whatever issue is the most urgent *right now*. The problem with these sorts of declarative statements seeming to come out of nowhere is that we generally don’t see all the underlying work that goes on, just the end product, so yes, it seems absurd on its face.
Unless I’m misunderstanding your post and you were cherry-picking that turn of phrase because you agree with it?
