The most successful (1A/1b) wrestler all time was garbage in the ring. You give a character a storyline that makes sense and they’ll do fine.

Hogan was terrible in the ring. He had a character and a narrative.
Lacey had a narrative - they told it for weeks in an interview. It was her story. It was inspirational…
They made her a heel. And it’s not an early Kurt Angle heel of being a phony face…it’s just a bad character.
